2026 Art and Book Festival Applications
We are delighted to celebrate 31 years of creativity and community with an inspiring mix of artists, authors, food and beverage participants, and local organizations. This festival has grown through the years because of people like you, and we are grateful for your interest in joining us.
All applications are reviewed with care to help us present a diverse and high quality showcase across every category. Our goal is to create a lively and welcoming atmosphere where attendees can enjoy exceptional art, engaging literature, and memorable food while connecting with talented creators.

New for 2026
As an all volunteer organization, we are now using an online application process. Managing mailed applications and payments has become increasingly challenging during the winter months, when many volunteers are not in Hackensack and application review activity is at its peak from January through March.
This updated process allows us to keep applications organized in one place and helps our team prepare for the festival with accuracy and care. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to strengthen and improve the festival experience while remaining rooted in the community traditions that have shaped the Northwoods Art and Book Festival for more than three decades.
Author spaces for the 2026 festival are currently full.
