Treats will be served, Candace Simar will be here to sign copies of her new book, Dear Homefolks, from 10am to noon, and The Bellows Shakers, an accordion group, will be playing from 1:30 to 2:00pm. Silk Scarf Dyeing Workshop
Wednesday, November 15 | 5pm - 7pm
Back by popular demand! This class offers an introduction to a fun and easy way of dyeing silk scarves using tissue paper. Diane Runberg will walk you through the steps and you'll create two scarves to take home along with the knowledge to continue with the process on your own. Needle Felted Gnome Workshop
Saturday, November 18 | 10am - 1pm
Learn to use a specially-barbed needle and fluffy wool to make a sweet gnome with a curly beard, just in time for holiday decorating. Needle-felting is a fun and accessible art form, growing in popularity. All materials are included in the class fee, and students will keep their mats and needles at the end of class. Lisa Jordan has been felting since 2006. She especially enjoys sharing this fun medium with others. She shares some of her work and life on her blog lilfishstudios.com. By day she is the Director of The Crossing Arts Alliance. Classes will be held at The Crossing Arts Alliance's new location at 711 Laurel Street, Brainerd. $20 for TCAA members/$25 for non-members. Fabric Is Paint! Workshop, With Pam Collins
Saturday, December 16 | 10am - 3pm
Join artist Pam Collins for a unique and interesting way to paint. You will learn to use fabric as paint. You will discover how to make a piece of fabric take on dimension and depth. You will learn to look at fabric in a whole new way! This class will show you how to make a landscape or seascape painting. You'll be guided through the whole process of design, cutting, gluing and dinishing your work of art. Although the tools are simple, you will need your imagination. You won't be sorry! Materials are provided, but students should bring: Their own fabric scissors, sack lunch, Optional: some of their own fabric scraps (should be at least 12 inches wide, length might not matter much). $70 for TCAA members/$75 for non-members. Minnesota State Arts Board Events
Would you like to learn more about accessing arts funding in Minnesota? The Minnesota State Arts Board is holding an information session in Brainerd on Thursday, November 16. Program officer Rini Rossi will talk about the process of applying to Arts Board grant programs for artists, health, and human service organizations, schools, local units of government, community organizations, arts organizations, and informal groups. Five Wings Arts Council staff will speak about regional arts council grant opportunities. Individual appointments with Rina Rossi will be offered prior to the information session. Infividual appoints will also be offered in Little Falls and walker.

Brainerd High School Theatre
"Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs" will be performed in the Little Theatre at Brainerd High School on November 10,11,17,18 at 7:00 pm, and November 12,19 at 2:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door an hour prior to the show. Adult admission is $7 and student admission is $5. Come watch talented students act in this classic play. All ages are welcome.
Aitkin Public Library
The Jaques Art Center, partnered with The City of Aitkin, is excited to present the newest art exhibit on display at the Aitkin Public Library, featuring art by local artist, Duane Barnhart. The city is honored to have a selection of paintings from this national and regional award-winning artist on display throughout the end of the year.

Grassroots Concerts are staged in the lIve Well Night Club and Coffee Bar at the Journey Church, 5459 CR 18, next to the school in Nisswa. Grassroots Concerts is a 501c3 nonprofit. Concert general admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 with listening attention, when accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 6:30. At each concert, non-perishable food and cash donations are welcomed, with donations delivered to local food chelves by Grassroots volunteers. For more information visit our website.

Seasons In the Sun, Featuring work by Kathy Braud and Kerry Kupferschmidt. This exhibition is on display in our main gallery through December. A reception will be held on December 2, from noon - 2pm.
Events at Jaques Art Center, Aitkin
November 8 the doors will open to the public for our Christmas Marketplace, a one of a kind holiday shopping experience. Join us on November 7, from 11 - 2, as we will host the annual 'First Dibs' Luncheon which which is a sneak peek at all of the wonderful holiday artisan craft items on dispaly and for sale at our Christmas Marketplace. Tickets are $10 and include a tasty gourmet box lunch. The Christmas Marketplace will be up through December 22.
December 5 & 6 are the traditional St. Nicholas Day Teas with tempting appetizers and proper British tea. This year's guest speaker is Mary Wasche, a mystery/romantic suspense novelist. We're calling this one 'The Romance of Christmas'. Tickets are $20.
December 14 will feature a new event this year, 'Spirit of the Arts' Christmas Social, from 5:50 - 8pm. Enjoy relaxing events with savory appetizers, holiday punch and an assortment of wines and desserts with specialty coffee and tea. Tickets are $20.
