Classes are held 10am-noon in the cafeteria, lower level, of the Franklin Arts Center. A $3 per child/$5 per family donation for materials is requested, but no child will be turned away due to need.
School of Rock
Registration is now open for Mark Munson's Memorial School of Rock. A spectacular 6-day summer camp culminating in a rock concert Aug 1 - 3, 8-10. Open to kids grades 5-12 with at least one year experience with their instruments. $230. Register online or via phone with Brainerd Public Schools Community Ed. Scholarships are available through TCAA. 

Featured Member Artist = Second Saturday fun at TCAA
August 12th, 10am to noon, meet featured Member Artists Joey Halvorson and Elisa Korenne. Joey will have a selection of her photographs from Cuba on display and Elisa, who is a singer/song writer, will be signing copies of her new book - 'Hundred Miles to Nowhere'. This is a unique opportunity to talk with our local artists, learn about their work, and show them support.

Visit with the artists, learn about Mondrian and music with the kids, and enjoy the artwork in our gallery. Good creative fun on Second Saturday!

Lakes Area Music Festival

The Lakes Area Music Festival is kicking off its summer season with a FREE prelude series. Featuring professional musicians from the MInnesota Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony, New York CIty, and around the world, these concerts serve as a preview of LAMFs ninth annual season coming up July 30 - August 20.

Crafternoons @ Your Library - Rosmaling - Thursday July 13 @ 2 pm - Join artist Jan Almquist for an introduction to this decorative folk art painting technique. All supplies are provided for this free series for adults by the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library. Registration is required as supplies are limited; please call 218-829-5574. Kaleidoscope - Sat Aug 5, 10-11:30. Solar printing - Using special paper and the power of the sun to create cyanotypes, or solar prints, which are a type of photographic blue print. Brainerd High School Theatre will be performing Henrik Ibsen's dramatic play A Doll's House in the Little Theatre. Performances are July 27-29 at 7:00 p.m. and July 30 at 2:00 p.m. Come watch Nora gain independence from her controlling husband, Torvald. Tickets can be purchased at the door an hour prior to the show. Adult admission is $7 and student admission is $5.

Rose Edin – Rose’s watercolor paintings are filled with light and color. She teaches thoughout the United States and abroad. Her class will be held August 28-30th. Cost $180.00
Judy Blaine – Judy is a fulltime artist specializing in watercolor with a loose, impressionistic style. Her class will be held September 27-29. Cost $170.00
Dan Mondloch – Dan is a watermedia artist who uses both acrylic and watercolor to achieve award winning results. His class will be held Oct. 31 – Nov. 1. Cost $180.00
